CrossFit Mental Game Skill #4: What are you in control of?
Start focusing on the things that are in your control. This is about your mindset! Practice, and you will learn how to maintain focus on things you can improve on, instead of things that are out of your control. Start today!
Things like other peoples attitude, behavior, expectations, comments and so on – is something you can do absolutely nothing about. So dont bother! What you CAN do – is paying attention to your own attitude, behavior and expectations! Make the list – with a pen and a piece of paper – not in your head. If you want it to make a difference, spend the time needed.
Then start reminding yourself in every situation where you feel frustrated – what are you in control of? What can YOU do in this situation? Is the frustration based on something some one else is doing, something you can’t control? Then back to focus – back to something you can control.

When you have practiced this for a while, and you start being aware of what you are actually capable of in terms of shifting focus – your are gonna feel a daily kick every day, because most of us spend way too much time on things that are out of our control. So lets start practicing!
